THE
DRIVE MARQUEE - TEAM MESSAGE BOARD __________________________________________________________________ WE ARE THE 2011 PRO WOOD CHAMPIONS!The 2011 LONG ISLAND DRIVE capped off quite possibly their most
impressive season in franchise history, after dethroning the 4-time league and 3-time national champion Long Island Black Sox in this year's repeat matchup for the 2011 Pro Wood Championship,
winning 5-0 on a one-hit shutoutby Drive ace and Cy Young, TOM KAHL. The
DRIVE finished off the season with a franchise-best win streak of
18 straight games, including a sweep throughout the playoffs and championship, and an overall record of 26-4 on the '11 season.
From June 27th through to the championship, the DRIVE never lost
another
game...a remarkable feat by any organization. The 2011 title is the 2nd in DRIVE franchise history at the top level of amateurbaseball on Long Island.
Congratulations to the
entire DRIVE roster for a job well done! And fellas.......GOT HEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!A special THANK YOU to all our fans and supporters

has now set on the 2011 campaign, which culminated in a long-awaited CHAMPIONSHIP for the Long Island Drive Baseball
franchise. Coming off a sweep in last year's championship series, the DRIVE had the opportunity to avenge it's
defeat with a rematch against the rival Black Sox in this year's title matchup....except, there is a new champion that has
been crowned. The 2011 Drive was the team to beat since day one, in an expanded and deeper Pro Wood Division atop Long
Island Stan Musial, and with the usual suspects in the Black Sox, Cardinals and Storm always posing as the most challenging
competitors, they were joined by new clubs, such as the Astros, LI Tigers, NHP Tigers and Selden Oilers, several
of whom were championship organizations in their previous divisions. With plenty of competition standing in the way
of a return to the title game, this year would prove to be among the most difficult challenges yet for the DRIVE. However,
as fate would have it, the DRIVE would stand alone as LEAGUE CHAMPIONS when the final out was recorded, returning the organization to prominence. Armed with its deepest pitching staff to date, and a strong
lineup throughout, the 2011 Drive made history. A full recap of our storybook season to follow in the coming days.... | ________________________________________________________
IN REMEMBERANCE and TRIBUTE OF ITS CATCHER *RICHARD CONNOR O'GORMAN* THE LONG ISLAND DRIVE CELEBRATES HIS MEMORY
RICHARD CONNOR O'GORMAN
"CATCHER"
1979 - 2009 APRIL 6,
2009 - The Long Island Drive organization deeply mourns the loss of one of its original members, CONNOR O'GORMAN
(#5), who was tragically struck by a car and killed early Sunday
morning at an undisclosed
location in New York City. Our thoughts and prayers are
with his family, as our organization is shocked by this awful, tragic loss. The Atlanta, Georgia native and former Princeton Tiger
and Long Island Drive catcher was just 30 years old at the time of the accident, and worked in trading for Morgan
Stanley in NY. Connor was loved by many and greatly respected and cared for by his
Drive teammates. Today, the Drive family collectively mourns the loss of one of its own - a great individual,
a friend, and a wonderful teammate. Rest
in Peace, Catcher.
