LONG ISLAND DRIVE 2008 ALL STARS
LONG ISLAND DRIVE 2007 ALL STARS
LONG ISLAND DRIVE - PLAYER PROFILES
FRANK GIGLIO #21 - OF
*General Manager/Franchise Co-Owner* As the founder, co-owner, and general manager of the Long Island Drive franchise, outfielder Frank Giglio represents the intensity
of his team every time he steps onto the diamond. Settled within the heart of the Drive lineup, Giglio has produced year-in,
year-out for the ballclub, while defensively patrolling all three outfield slots for the team. Giglio took home
his 3rd Batting Title after the 2009 season, leading the club with a .410 avg, an impressive .589 OBP, and a team leading
.435 BAwRISP on the year. Since he co-founded the Drive, he has been one of the Drive offensive leaders in nearly every
major category, each season he wore the uniform. The former St. John's University Red Storm outfielder looks to continue
his previous successful campaigns by contributing with another solid season for his team in 2010, in the hope of leading the
Drive back to the league championship series, in the premier division of Long Island baseball. By trade, Frank,
currently sponsored by BlackBerry, is a father, a professor at St. John's, an attorney, in private practice, and a sports
agent- the owner and President of his own agency on Long Island - Drive Sports and Entertainment, Inc. - representing professional
athletes in baseball and golf. In other words, Frank is really busy.. and in comparing all of that to his stats.. wow.. he's
awesome.
ADAM MYERS #13 - 3B/C/Util
*Asst. General Manager/Franchise Co-Owner*
Adam Myers, the co-founder and first ever Captain and Batting Champ of
the LI Drive, epitomizes a careful balance of pure talent, clutchness and aggressiveness on the diamond. A former UTampa/Ramapo
College product, the co-owner and veteran of the LI Drive is both a talented and diverse player, once setting an unprecedented
team mark for being the only player in a single season to play all nine positions on the field for the Drive, much to the
chagrin of his managers. Ever
the jokester, Myers is known to lug around a bag filled with gloves and equipment, in the event that he once again be forced
to step into any role on the diamond. For 2010, Myers looks to rebound from the affects of the LI Drive Wedding Year
Curse of 2008, and simply forgetting how to play baseball in 2009, to regain his standing among the elite members of the Drive.
A return to any resemblance of his former self, would surely secure Myers the 2010 Comeback Player of the Year award for the
Drive.
JASON MERZ #19 - 1B/DH
*Team Manager*
Veteran slugger Jason Merz is no stranger to Long Island amateur baseball
and LI Stan Musial, as he returns to again lead the Drive for a sixth consecutive season in 2010. After joining the organization
prior to the '05 season, Merz, the franchise's only 6-Time All-Star not to record a defensive putout, has continued his
longstanding success in the top division of play, year after year, as a respected middle-of-the-order bat and fierce competitor
on the diamond, once June rolls around that is. The Drive attributes much of its presence and personality to Jay's veteran
leadership, as he helps give the club a unique and spirited identity. The slugging veteran will again be the primary DH and
on field team manager for the LI Drive this coming season. Merz, on the comeback trail from numerous rehab starts, looks to
shed the Wedding Year Curse of 2009, and give Myers a run for his money in the battle for 2010 Comeback Player of the Year.
When not playing for the Drive, Merz, the Matt Stairs lookalike, has been known to sweep right.
VINNIE MANNESE
#32 - SP
*Franchise
Recruiter/Assistant Coach*
When teams think of their top pitchers, they think of the ace they give
the ball to and rely on in big spots, the horse that keeps the game close by battling the toughest opposing hitters inning
after inning. The same holds true for the LI Drive. But when Mannese walks out of that dugout with those child-bearing hips
and painted on pants, one begins to wonder if they've just been punked. Appearances aside, when the team calls upon its ace,
and Harris is unavailable, we look for veteran Vinnie Mannese. Mannese carries an arsenal of pitches and arm angles that are
sure to keep even the most seasoned veteran on his toes. Mannese, returning for his 8th season with the Drive in 2010, and
coming off his franchise record 3rd MVP Season (Co-MVP along with Mike Herbst), will attempt to again be the secondary
or possibly even tertiary ace the franchise can rely on for its front-line starting staff, as long as he does not succumb
to the perils of the dreaded LI Drive Wedding year Curse. That being said, the LI Drive organization proudly congratulates
"Slim" and his wife Lisa on tying the knot in 2010.

DAN BERRY #4 - RP
The LI Drive is proud to welcome back a perrenial candidate for the LI Drive "Best hair" award in reliever Dan Berry.
After a two plus year hiatus from the fields of Long Island, Berry's strong arm and his Jimmy Johnson-esque locks return
for another go around in the Drive bullpen. Carrying a power arm and solid 3-pitch arsenal, Berry has pitched
in relief for the Drive before and looks to regain some of the previous success he has garnered in the past. Watch
out Craw! Berry's got some product! MIKE CARBONE
#27 - P
Coming off of a career year for the Drive in 2009, "Bone", the former Suffolk University righthander from East
Meadow, looks to continue his recent string of success for the Drive in 2010. Always there to pickup a win, a hold, or
if needed, a save, even if its at someone else's expense, the Human Fungo is an integral part of the Drive family. A quality
start, a refresher on the Irish Exit, or a fancy Johan-like handshake, Carbone can be counted on for just about everything.
And that's aside from the trunk full of tricks he will throw at you off the mound. Carbone has pitched in both starting and relief
roles for the Drive the past few seasons, posting solid numbers as he came up big in several key spots. The team
and the scorebook are quite excited to have Carbone back for the upcoming season. RYAN CRAWFORD #25 - C
One word - PRODUCT. The Long Island Drive's only 3 time winner of the "Best Hair Award", the fine wine
known as Ryan Crawford just seems to get better with age. The veteran catcher rejoins the LI Drive for the 2010
season, in pursuit of another Long Island championship. An integral lead blocker in the Sweep Right, Crawford is
also a great backstop, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong arm to the club, where he will patrol the dish for the
Drive and help corrall its deep and impressive pitching staff. Crawford, a native of Cooperstown, NY, formerly played college
ball up north and independent ball in upstate New York, before moving to Long Island and signing with the Drive in 2007. SECOND
BASE!! ADAM DOCAR #44 - SP
The only Drive member to be escorted to the field by private security, the Drive's resident tree trunk is looking to regain
his form in 2010 after suffering an injury late in the 2009 season. An important cog in the Drive's impressive pitching staff,
"Dokes", a righthander standing at an imposing 6'4" can be counted on each and everytime to challenge the opposing
lineup to the max. The former Hofstra University standout and independent league pitcher with a fastball clocked in the
low 90s returns to the Drive this season to give the Drive a solid 1 through 5 in a rotation deep in talent
and experience. A rotation that surely looks to carry the team deep into the playoffs, hopefully ending in the goal of a second
championship. TOM DUMSER #9 - C
Dumser comes back for his second year with the Drive in 2010, looking to improve upon his 2009 rookie campaign. A catcher
with a strong throwing arm, solid stick, and an ever present dip, Dumser is known for his stellar defense and handling
of the pitching staff. TD is currently starring in the rec league at Island Garden in West Hempstead, while secretly scouting
all things Storm related for 2010. His alter ego DOOM is holed up in negotiations with Marvel comics for the
release of a new self titled comicbook and action figure series. Super powers or not, Dumser is a welcome return to the 2010
team. CHRIS ESPOSITO #11 - RHP
Esposito, another former opponent with the Farmingdale Mets, returns from hiatus, to join the Drive pitching staff for the
2010 season. Looking to help out of the Drive bullpen in 2010, Chris brings another swingman arm to the staff that will
count on him to fill the innings as both a reliever and a spot starter . RYAN GAGE #42 - OF
Gage, a fiery competitor who only expects the best out of himself, returns to the Drive in 2010 as an additional outfielder
looking to improve on his impressive 2009 season. Gage, always on the verge of a classic outburst, is a throwback
player, one who is not afraid to go all out, get his uniform dirty, and scare the life out of an umpire all in the same
breath. A player with great passion and heart, Gage represents to the core of what it is to be a member of the Drive.
Drive Management looks forward to saving a few umpires from a Terry Tate like spearing in 2010. JASON GALBRAITH #14 - LHP
Galbraith a LHP, joins the Drive staff in 2010 as a solid second lefty in the rotation. A former St. Louis Cardinals farmhand,
Jason will look to use his quality repertoire and arm angles to keep hitters off balance throughout the 2010 season. Adding
Jason will lock in what looks to be the deepest and most talented rotation in the top division of the LISMBL. BILLY GRAISER #20 - CF
The premier signing of the 2006 free agent class , the acquisition of former St, John's University Red Storm centerfielder
and All Big East player, Billy Graiser, turned out to be one of the best moves to date for the franchise, as Graiser made
an instant impact on the Drive offense and defense. Coming into 2010, Graiser, our 2 Time MVP, 2 Time Batting
Champ, and resident Notre Dame hater looks to rebound from an off year, preemptively warning the team
and Giglio that his hold on the Team Batting Title will not last, while again patrolling centerfield with Andruw
Jones like fluidity. The Drive is proud to return BG for his fifth season in uniform, hoping to
see him not fall into any Manny Ramirez impersonations with the beloved umpires of LISMBL and hopes he will work
his way back into the graces of Grady's Lady's. CHAD HARRIS #22 - SP
Ace. Team. League. Ace - Nuff Said
MIKE HERBST #7 - 1B
The Captain of the 2010 Drive Squad, Herbst and his all out no B.S. demeanor epitomizes how the game should be played.
With his monstrous Paul Bunyan style hacks, Herbst had a Co-MVP winning season for the Drive in 2009 to the tune of a .392
avg, .531 OBP, with 22 RBI's and a.424 BAwRISP. An anchor to the Drive's boastful all beef infield, Herbst will hold
down 1B once again in 2010, looking to back up his MVP year numbers. The Drive proudly congratulates Mike on his being named
to the captaincy and his recent wedding.

CHRIS KAHL #31-
IF/RP
Looking to rebound from a serious shoulder injury and operation during the 2009 campaign, his first with the Drive, Chris
Kahl will try to return to prominence at the top of the Drive Lineup once cleared for baseball activities. A prolific bunter
and on base threat, with the ability to play most positions on the diamond, as well as pitch rather effectively off the mound,
Kahl could be an important piece to the run to the title in 2010. The team looks forward to him regaining his health
and strength throughout Spring Training allowing them to capitalize on his versatility. Sidenote - if anyone has seen his
uniform please contact our Tournament Director Vinny Mannese... TOM KAHL #12 - OF/P
The last piece to the 2nd set of brothers to join the LI Drive, 'TK' has followed in his older brother Chris's footsteps
and joined the Drive in 2010 looking to contribute to the championship run, while he works his way back from injury.
The current red-shirt Domincan College All-Star will look to regain a reputation in Long Island Stan Musial
baseball as a formidable arm off the mound, as well as an imposing one from anywhere on the diamond. Kahl, not a man
of many words, will also look to regain his power stroke and let his bat do the talking in the mix of the Drive's already
powerful lineup. The Drive looks forward to capitalizing on his 'rehab stint' for 2010. JOSEPH
KITT #5 - OF/P
The fiery, lead-off threat for the 2009 LI Drive is looking to build upon his late season and Arizona
hot streak. Had it not been for that Sniper out in Tempe, JK might just still be running wild. Although he lacks
the ability to 'go right', JK can sure go left, and do it in a hurry. The former King College, Suffolk CC West, and
West Islip Lions star, JK has a reputation in Long Island Stan Musial baseball as a pesky lead-off hitter and
on base machine. The Drive looks forward to capitalizing on his on base prowess by making sure that Joe leads the league
in runs scored for 2010. MICHAEL
KITT #10 - SP/IF The LI Drive is proud to welcome back the former Suffolk Community College
West and current Mars Hill North Carolina star, who is currently in his senior season of college ball. In
Long Island Stan Musial years of the past, Michael was one of the most successful and respected pitchers in the league, bringing a
fastball nearing 90mph, along with a deadly slider and equally nasty changeup, shutting down the Drive on a few occasions
while playing with the West Islip Lions. Looking for greener pastures, and following the lead of his brother Joe, Mike
joined the Drive in its quest for the title in 2008. Making the switch to the OF full time in 2009, MK has been posting ridiculous
power numbers for his current team. Now if only the Drive Organization could get him to put down the weights,
they just might convince him to return to the hill. The Drive wishes him much current success, but selfishly hopes that he
will book a return engagement with the team in the near future. STEVEN LAMACCHIA #18 - 1B/P LaMacchia, a lumberjack of a first baseman in the style of Future Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, joins the Drive class of 2010
looking to have an immediate impact on the middle of the lineup. One of the many members scratching the comeback itch in recent
years, the former Milwaukee Brewer farmhand will be looked upon for his powerful hitting, defense and relief pitching in 2010. The
one guy who may give Herbst a Napoleon complex, The Drive proudly welcomes one of its newest players and looks
forward to a successful 2010 season with him.
KELVIN ORTIZ #8 - IF
PONCHALO!
SCOTT REO #29 - IF The Drive proudly welcomes back one of its top acquisitions of 2009, Scotty Scott - Jayden's
Daddy, aka Bruce Reo. Bruce, a former Queens College All Star, earned LISMBL All Star Status in 2009, his rookie campaign
with the Drive, stepping into an ever cyclical shortstop position on the Drive. Bruce's lightning quick, Bruce-like
reflexes, allowed him to compensate for the wet noodle of an arm that was provided to him at birth. Unable to hit the NYSC
weights hard enough to fend off the degeneration of his shoulder ligaments, Bruce will likely be making a switch to 2b this
year where his sally strong arm will surely be considered an upgrade.
RYAN SCHAEFER #1 - IF Schaefer, a shortstop by trade, is looking to make a return for his second season... GPS
is currently locating....
JOHN SUCCAROTTE #3 - IF The Drive proudly welcomes another new addition to the 2010 roster in John Succarotte. An infielder
from the University of Delaware, John will look to provide balance and depth in the infield for the Drive in the upcoming
season.
NICK TIMPONE #37
- P When he's not at the gym working on his or someone else's biceps under the close eyes of Scotty
The Body Reo, you can find our resident closer Nick Timpone, doing his best Francisco Rodriguez impersonations on a nightly
basis in closing out Drive victories. Always one to make it interesting, Nick is the only closer known to man to be accompanied
by his own personal catcher, known to keep him under wraps. In his free time, Nick enjoys long walks on the beach, Beemer's,
Benz's and Bentley's, and an occasional stank of the leg.
Reserve/InActive List FRANK DOLAN #17
- 2B
The former S.U.N.Y. Brockport and Italian professional league second baseman is another veteran and original member of the
LI Drive. Dolan is the owner of All 4 Sports and Fitness, the official training facility of the LI Drive, and is a certified
athletic performance training specialist. JACK MURPHY #2 - P
"The MURPH" - the only guy on the Drive man enough to wear a skirt while playin the pipes.
